AI was seasonal in 2024-2025. Growth decelerated during the summer (students/people work less is the theory) and reaccelerated after Labor Day. This year, AI accelerated in July/August led by OpenAI, Grok and open-source. And today is the first time I’ve ever seen this:

Woah, $SPCX acquired Cursor for $60B. I did not think it was worth that much… Maybe network effect or data for improving models became invaluable? I’m sure Elon has a plan in mind, the Twitter acquisition paid extreme dividends.

Netflix rejected a $12M offer from Bezos in 1999. Blockbuster "laughed [Netflix] out of the room" when Netflix offered to sell to them for $50M. Today they announced their acquisition of Warner Bros, and have a market cap of $426B.

In FY26, over 200 million new players came to XBOX and our games, but our business did not grow with our audience. We need to close that gap by investing in what players value. That will take time, but we expect to return to growth by the end of FY27.
